Legado das Águas

Legado das Águas is the largest private Atlantic Forest reserve in Brazil. It covers 31,000 hectares divided among the municipalities of Juquiá, Miracatu, and Tapiraí, in the Vale do Ribeira, in the interior of the state of São Paulo, and combines forest protection and scientific research with new-economy activities such as native plant production and ecotourism. It was founded in 2012 by the companies CBA – Companhia Brasileira de Alumínio, Nexa, Votorantim Cimentos, and Votorantim Energia. It is managed by Reservas Votorantim LTDA. and maintained by Votorantim S.A.
