MONA do Morro Caxambu

Morro Caxambu rises to 1,090 m. From here you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city and marvel at the outlines of the Serra da Mantiqueira and the Serra do Papagaio. To reach the lookout on the hill, you can take the Teleférico chairlift; the ride up and down is made in individual chairs suspended from a traction cable. It is a pleasant ride that lets you enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of the Parque das Águas and its surroundings. Another option is to walk up the Trilha Caminho das Águas, which starts on Rua Monsenhor João de Deus and goes up to the lookout. It is a beautiful ecological walk where you can connect with nature and learn more about the local ecology. The path is marked with signs that make for a pleasant and informative experience about the birds, the terrain, the geology, and the mineral waters of the region. It is also possible to drive up in a private vehicle via the road through the Trançador neighborhood, which was recently marked with new signs. Watching the sunset here is a unique experience; there is a restaurant serving Minas Gerais cuisine and appetizers, as well as handicraft shops with regional products.
