Parque Nacional da Serra da Bodoquena

About the protected area

  • Total Area:770 km²

The Serra da Bodoquena National Park gets its name from the Tupi-Guarani language, meaning "spring above the earth." It protects springs in a transition area between the Atlantic Forest and the Pantanal, all within the Cerrado. Without public use organization, access is made through private properties, which may charge fees. Both in dry and flood seasons, the Park offers different beauties, but it should be avoided only between July and September, during the fire season.
