Parque Nacional da Serra de Itabaiana

Located in Sergipe, Parque Nacional da Serra de Itabaiana protects remnants of Atlantic Forest and its transition to the Cerrado, in an area whose springs supply a significant part of the state capital, Aracaju. The park can be visited at any time of year, but the volume of water in the waterfalls tends to drop toward the end of the year. It can be busier on weekends, as the trails are easy and well marked, which makes the park a favorite spot among the local population.
