Parque Nacional de Pacaás Novos

About the protected area

  • Total Area:7,087 km²

Parque Nacional de Pacaás Novos is also called Parque Uru-Eu-Wau-Wau because it lies entirely within an Indigenous territory of the same name, which gives the park double protection: environmental and social. The park's tourism plan is still under evaluation, as there are 3 to 5 uncontacted Indigenous communities in the area. The park is also home to Pico do Tracoá, the highest point in the state of Rondônia. Find out more at https://entreparquesbr.com.br/pacaas-novos/ Image credits: entreparquesbr
