Parque Nacional do Boqueirão da Onça

About the protected area

  • Total Area:3,469 km²

Parque Nacional do Boqueirão da Onça is one of the last refuges for jaguars in the Caatinga, and it also protects the last remnants of the biome. Besides the jaguars, the park's wildlife highlight is Lear's macaw. Because it is new (created in 2018), the park's tourism infrastructure is still under development, and there are no mapped attractions yet. Visits are possible year-round, but the risk of wildfires is highest at the end of the year. Find out more at https://entreparquesbr.com.br/boqueirao-da-onca/ Image credits: entreparquesbr
