Parque Nacional do Pico da Neblina

About the protected area

  • Total Area:22,526 km²

Parque Nacional do Pico da Neblina is home to the highest point in Brazil, Pico da Neblina, as well as the country's second-highest point, Pico 31 de Março. Visits are only possible with operators accredited by ICMBio and ISA, with the involvement of the local Yanomami people, whose territories overlap with a large part of the park. The second half of the year is the best time to visit: it is hotter, but there is less rain. It is a Brazilian strictly protected area located in the north of the state of Amazonas, near the border with Venezuela. Together with the Serra do Divisor, Cabo Orange, Montanhas do Tumucumaque and Monte Roraima national parks, it forms the group of border national parks of the Brazilian Amazon. Its territory lies within the municipalities of Santa Isabel do Rio Negro and São Gabriel da Cachoeira. Find out more at https://entreparquesbr.com.br/pico-da-neblina/ Image credits: entreparquesbr
