  • Total Area:8.8 km²

Parque Nacional Marinho dos Abrolhos got its name from a warning to sailors, "abre os olhos" ("open your eyes"), because of its coral reefs. The archipelago is the region with the greatest marine biodiversity in the South Atlantic. Access is by boat only, and an overnight stay is recommended, which can only be arranged through authorized operators. Landing is not allowed on some islands. Humpback whale season runs from July to October, peaking in August and September. Whale and bird watching are the park's main attractions, along with diving to observe other forms of marine life.
