Caverna do Couto

Couto Cave is located 400 meters from the control and monitoring kiosk of the Santana Center. Described in the late 1890s by the German naturalist Ricardo Krone, the cavity measures 471 meters long and has a 26-meter elevation difference. The Morro Preto and Couto Caves represent two distinct evolutionary phases of the same cavity, with Morro Preto being the older part and Couto being the more recent section.
