Trecho 06 - Casa Amarela x Pau-da-fome

Prepare yourself for a section with a lot of incline, on a long and difficult hike. However, the immersion in the dense and well-preserved forest makes the effort worthwhile. Amidst the Atlantic Forest, in an area enclosed by mountains, lies the incredible Camorim Reservoir, one of the symbols of the Park and the Transcarioca Trail. With a volume of 210,000 m³ and a depth of 18 m, it is located 435 m above sea level, with a water surface equivalent to a quarter of the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas. It is situated between the Quilombo, Nogueira, and Sacarrão Peaks, in a valley above the Camorim and Véu da Noiva waterfalls. It was built in 1908. Swimming in the reservoir is not allowed.
