Trilha Patatiba

About the trail

  • Difficulty:Moderate
  • Extension:1.2 km

The Patatiba Trail was designed to cater to the diverse visitors of the region, offering a short, circular route that provides direct contact with nature and a more tranquil experience, avoiding the crossing of groups in opposite directions. With approximately 1,200 meters in length, an average duration of 40 minutes, and a difficulty level ranging from low to medium, it is suitable for different audience profiles. Along the way, visitors traverse areas of dense forest, observe century-old trees, a wide variety of vines, and the rich biodiversity of the Atlantic Forest. The trail features rustic signage throughout, ensuring guidance and safety. One of the highlights is the bridge over the Jacuba River, which allows for contemplation of the Jacuba Waterfall, as well as a deck for access to swimming and a resting area with tables and chairs. The name Patatiba refers to the historical origin of the current Vale Verde district, an ancient Tupiniquim indigenous settlement from the 16th century, later transformed into a Jesuit mission. The trail pays tribute to the history, culture, and people who built this territory.
